ISO9809 267-80Billet Cylinder
Description
Technical Parameters
All ISO9809 267-80 Billet Cylinder moves should be made using a compressed gas cylinder cart. Always secure the cylinder when in storage or in use.
Cylinders secured with chains or straps must have the chain or strap secured 2/3 of the way up the cylinder.
Compressed gas cylinders should not be subjected to any mechanical impact that could cause damage to their valves or pressure relief devices. Cylinders should not be dropped, dragged, slid, or used as rollers for moving materials or other equipment.
Cylinder caps have two functions. First, they protect the cylinder from damage if the valve on top of the cylinder is knocked off. Second, if gas is accidentally released through the valve, the cylinder caps vent the gas out the sides, minimizing the possibility of the cylinder tipping over. Cylinder caps should not be removed until the cylinder is secured in place and ready for use.
The contents of any compressed gas cylinder must be clearly identified. The gas identification should be printed or embossed on the cylinder or label. A commercially available three-part labeling system may be used for identification and inventory.
Compressed gas cylinders that do not clearly identify the name of their contents should not be accepted for use. If the label on the cylinder becomes unclear, the cylinder should be marked as "contents unknown" and returned to the supplier.
Do not rely on the color of the cylinder for identification. Color coding is not reliable because cylinder colors may vary from supplier to supplier. Also, never rely on labels on bottle caps because they are interchangeable.
All gas lines leading from the compressed gas supply should be clearly labeled to identify the gas and service area. Labels should be coded to distinguish between hazardous gases, such as flammable, toxic, or corrosive substances. Signs should be posted in areas where flammable compressed gases are stored or used to identify the substance and take appropriate precautions.
