Fire Fighting Cylinder

The Fire Fighting Cylinder can be used for gas fires before the gas source is cut off, liquid fires or solid fires of fusible materials such as asphalt and paraffin, fires on common solid surfaces such as cotton cloth and fabrics, including electrical fires of precision instruments. It cannot be used for fires of chemicals containing oxidants such as nitrocellulose and gunpowder, fires of active metals such as potassium, sodium, magnesium, titanium, and zirconium, and fires of metal cyanides such as potassium cyanide and sodium cyanide.

Certain types of water fire extinguishers contain antifreeze which will allow the extinguisher to be used in freezing conditions. Water type fire extinguishers can also sometimes contain wetting agents which are designed to help increase its effectiveness against fire. These extinguishers are intended primarily for use on Class A fires.
